Pressure Drop Returns to The Eagle - 04/09/14

After a short break, Pressure Drop will return to The Eagle this Saturday night. Tucked away behind lower bridge street, what this night lacks in geographic location, it makes up for in beats.

Oktoberfest comes to Telfords Warehouse

Telford's Warehouse starts its annual Oktoberfest beer festival on Friday night, which runs through the weekend.

I highly recommend a visit! There is always a solid collection of real ales as well as talented local musicians.

"With over 30 regional and national real ales and ciders on offer over the course of the weekend, as well as our usual selection of national and international beers, it promises to be a fantastic weekend.
"Throw in a selection of the best Live Music acts from Chester and the surrounding areas, including the likes of Rusty Mahone & Friends, Tom Durkin, The Mark Henderson Band & many more and the party is already in full swing.
"To finish off the mix we will also be serving an extended range of snacks from the bottom bar.

A quick look back at the last few months

Its a shame I've not had time to keep on top of this blog as there are so many amazing things happening in Chester at the moment.

I do hope you are managing to go a little 'under the covers' and find some of the fantastic events that are happening around our cultured city.

I have spent a lot of time playing on the open mic circuit over the last few months and have to say I'm really enjoying each and every venue I play at.

The Compass has been one of my favs over recent weeks. Its popularity is slowly growing and some of the acts I've heard down there in recent weeks have been sublime.

This is hopefully the start of me finding some time to write about the great things that are happening at the moment.

Alexanders Open Mic Christmas Special This Tuesday

The legendary open mic night at Alexanders has been running every Tuesday night for over 10 years! Its an amazing achievement and one of the best in Chester.

Run by Graham Bellinger and his band, 'The Deportees' the night attracts some of the best local talent from both Chester and Chester's surrounding areas.

Next Tuesday's open mic (21st December 2010) is the Christmas special which in the past, has been an absolute blast and one of the best of the year.

It's an unmissable event, so make sure you are down there to support both the venue and the musicicans and other acts that grace the stage.

Entry is £2 after 9pm - free for performers and performers also receive one free drink. 

DJ Pinky To Play The Cellar (City Bar) Sat 18th January

If you are stuck for something to do on Saturday night then I recommend heading down to The Cellar (formally known as City Bar) to hear DJ Pinky spinning the dinner plates.

You'll find yourself listening to an eclectic collection of music, all designed to get you on your feet dancing.

The Suns To Perform In Telford's Warehouse January 8th 2011

Chester band The Suns have announced that they will be heading back to Telford's Warehouse to promote the release of their latest album bigtroubleinlittlediva.

With influences from 50s rock and roll, and an obvious 'Mersey beat' vibe, the gig should be another fine occasion if they are on form.

Local DJ Timmy Magic will also be performing, providing an eclectic mix of music right into the night.

The event takes place on January 8th and entry is £4.

Definitely one of the calendar folks!
 

X Factor Star Wagner To Appear In Cruise Nightclub Chester

Ok so not really an alternative event, but I just couldn't resist the urge to post this one!

Cruise Chester have confirmed that X Factor 2011 sensation, Wagner will be making an appearance at the nightclub on Friday January 21.
